The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative and supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
All women who attend Moore’s Chapel are members of the United Methodist Women and are warmly invited to attend and participate in the monthly meetings that include devotions, planning, and fellowship.
The United Methodist Women organize numerous activities during the year: such as the Soup and Potato Lunch, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, Yard Sale, and the Craft and Bake Sale. The women also serve numerous dinners and receptions and have food booths at various community activities.
Funds raised through these activities are used to support mission and church projects. Some of the missions supported include the Convent of the Transfiguration in the Dominican Republic, Gary and Rebecca Mink in Africa, Don Young in Guatemala, Ray of Hope Mission Center, the Help Center in Cecil County, and the Community Emergency Parish Fund.
The United Methodist Women are fully committed to outreach and missions both globally and locally.
